Selon moi et mon amie

You know what really makes some people stand out from the rest so brilliantly? Apart from their niceness, they would sincerely look into your eyes when they speak. As if all their attention is on you, absolute no care about the surroundings, making sure you feel more than just a participant in a conversation, making sure you feel connected. And as cliche as it sounds, your eyes suddenly become the windows to your soul, open and allowing. As if these people can easily see you and your bare soul, exposed. Perhaps not in an intimidated fashion but in the most comfortable way ever to know you. And also, genuinely wearing a nice smile. Attractive? Yes. And while other people are noticing this attractive demeanor, they remain oblivious not knowing how beautiful they shine. As if the way they engage with people is their natural talent.

Just like a star.

And throughout 20 years of my life, I have met less than a few people who captured my heart in such a way. Perhaps for a few minutes of my life within a day, a week, a month or a year, just tiny little crushes, and I've always wondered why couldn't our paths have crossed more often.

And I still wonder.

This consciousness became more obvious since secondary school. And it was tough and painful.  I've been in a sports CCA since secondary school and I couldn't really avoid not becoming tanned. What hurts the most was even my peers at that time would make comments about my skin colour without even realising the damage caused from these words. These comments I recall, were sometimes made under the guise of humour. I was called 'budak hitam' (literally means 'black child') and even ...

Infinity

unbounded to any definitions or limits, existing but not adequately known. this entity, being constantly talked about, pulls like an unbeatable gravitational force. we are always approaching, almost touching, existing in tandem, still, not yet meeting Infinity the eventual meeting where there are no bounds
