One of the best things about the school holidays is the fact that I finally have "me" time I've never had enough of during the buzzling school semesters. True that I've been going out every single day last week ever since my last paper, but spending time at home and doing the things I've wanted to like catching up with my shows, movies, reading, music, stoning, lying down but not sleeping, television, lingerrr.blogspot, tumblr, have never felt so blissful for these couple of days. Well, it's been way too long isn't it? Let's see. 4th week of school was so passé and I've begun to feel slightly worried about my schoolwork cos I haven't really done much about it. And also, it's been a week since I've bidded farewell to my dear Beninois. I've been busy with YOG ever since its opening ceremony. I used to tell Kai Teng during one of the June/July trainings that we attended, that I never felt any form of satisfaction attending any of those. But once the olympics commenced, I feel the satisfaction sinking in bit by bit. First of all, I had access to the village, which is an atmosphere you'd want to sense every single day. Ok, at least for me, I love the international feel of it. You walk along those long corridors of NIE, and you see people of different colours speaking different languages. Happy Birthday Singapore! Although the National Day hype diminishes as I age, Singapore is too tiny a country to not feel the vibe, especially when you get those roadblocks due to the parade rehearsals in the city, fireworks on Saturdays and of course the aerial flypast. I guess partly the reason why it diminishes is because I'm no longer exposed to what we used to when we were younger. Remember back in primary and secondary school we have the sing-along sessions during assembly? And we would readily sing them? Damn, I miss those mass celebrations that succeeded in building up an atmosphere enough to make you feel you have celebrated an occasion fully. I have to give credits to the National Day songs because most of them, if not all, are really good. A few days ago, I was present at this YOG event, and they started to play several national day songs. Went to Alliance Francais to watch this French play (above) on Saturday night. Yeah the box that says 'English Subtitles' didn't really do justice because the only English subtitles were the translated summary of every scene. But I have to admit that without those, we (the non-French, yes the place was really filled with French) would die not fully understanding anything except comprehending from body language and anything within our capability to understand this really interesting, fast-spoken language. But overall it was okay. Contrary to how he looks like in the poster, no L'Avare isn't a horror show (my mom thought we went to watch a scary french play, but I wouldn't mind going for one in future lol). It's a familial show, mainly revolves around a miser who refuses to grant his children's wishes to marry because he is a one stingy man. Today started as early as 9 am cos Aiman and I planned to have MacDonalds breakfast at Science Centre before heading to ICA. It's been ages since I had Macs breakfast! So anyway after that, he accompanied me to apply for my passport renewal. The reason for waking up that early is really to avoid long queues at ICA but guess what? I didn't even need to queue today! Because we basically went to ICA JUST to write on the application form, paste my passport size photo, and drop it into the box before realising I had to make the payment first which would then produce a receipt that needed to be stapled to the application form that has already been dropped into the box! But thankfully the nice lady at the counter told us that they could open the box and retrieve back my application form so I could attach the receipt. But once they got to doing so, we were a tad little too late because some other staff already accumulated the forms somewhere else, so the box was empty! Why is it that...

Hello! My tuition kid postponed my tuition to an hour later so am here to steal some time to blog. If you're wondering, yes, I did go down to PS to see Lee Min Ho at Etude House. And if you've already known or read from the news, yes, he didn't turn up! Why? Because it was uber friggin' crowded to the max, and due to security reasons he couldn't come in. It was seriously crowded, like the whole of B1 level was filled and there were so many other people on every other level too! God. But isn't it sad?! The ambassador of Etude House could not even enter the small little shop he was supposed go to. In the first place, they shouldn't even hold the event at Singapore freaking Plaza! So after several times they announced to the whole mob that the event was cancelled, people started to go off. Transformers 2 was great, or at least better than I expected it to be. True, the first one is more original, but the second one has a thrilling plot and includes some emotional elements, like how Optimus Prime and Sam died (but didn't really) and these scenes are effing tear-jerker! Anyway, I'm looking forward to The Proposal, Half Blood Prince (!!!) and The Time Traveller's Wife! Anyway I saw Amrit again today, dressed in her usual sleeping gown, along with her mobile phone and cigarette under the void deck, yakking away with god knows who over the phone. Seeing Singapore with her had been fun! Haha. And the fact that I can practise a lil francais with her. And for the courtesy of my love for monkeys, I shall post my favourite picture of the day. My cute little baby baboon! How adorable. Out of all animals, I still love the monkeys, be it chimpanzee, gorilla, orangutan, or baboons (: So the whole night, I spent the time at Kiki's place, since there's only the field separating our residences, just playing Boggle. It was a good night for cracking brains towards the expansion of vocabulary. The best part was when Ali (11-year old) stated that he had a word none of us has, and said "Slut! S-L-U-T, slut!", all us gasped and then laughed in unison. So funny! Ok, goodnight for now!

For these past few days I realised that my thumbdrive has gone missing, so this morning I cleaned up my room. You see, for every occasion where disappearing is concerned, it has to be somewhere in the nook and cranny of the house. But I couldn't find it anyway after much cleaning. So just now my dad handed me this SingaporePost envelope since it was addressed to me. And inside was my lost thumbdrive! Whoever who found it and posted it to me must have done his good deed haha!
